Rafa-kids - behind the scene


Since last Thursday, we were so busy. We welcomed a big track in front of our studio with all Rafa-kids beds in colors and then we sort out all of them and prepare the first shipments for our waiting customers. On Monday we had planned photo session workshop, so we need also to prepare so many things for it. Sunday afternoon we just took boys with us to our studio.  Robert loves to help set up the beds and Franek got a serious work to stick the black dots on the paper lamps ;-) They feel like home there ….

We got a fantastic photo workshop with  Paulina Arcklin . I just can't wait to show you pictures we made.

Let's meet A teen bed from Rafa-kids





Many things are going on here at the moment. One of them is that Rafa-kids is growing!
Today is the moment I can finally show you our new A teen bed. 
The idea of the bed was born from getting e-mails from parents, where they told us, that they really like our F&R set of beds, but their second child is too old to enjoy the R toddler bed for long. Today we can finally show you how we fulfill this need. 
Rafa-kids A teen bed fits perfectly under the F bunk bed and makes together an F&A set, for older children. The two beds are in adult size and can be used for many years. The bed is low and gives enough comfort space to sit on the bed, read and just enjoy it during the day. We designed a very compact bed, which doesn't take much space in the room and it can be use also like a daybed or in the guest room, when the child moves out from the house.  We really like the simplicity and elegant lines of this bed. Rafa-kids collection - photo session in our new studio is coming in May!  I can't wait. 
New A teen bed is ready for pre-orders and will be available in mid - April.

Rafa-kids R toddler bed in Estmagazine





I'm so happy to show you Estmagzine publication from a beautiful house in Amsterdam. 
The owner Eva from Orphan socks, was the first person who trusted us 
and got our R - toddler bed for her son. 
That's why this is very touching moment for me. 
The house was  photographed by  Marjon Hoogervorst and styled by AnoukB - what an honor! 

I hope you like this stylish, modern house as much as I do. 
Eva has a great taste of an architect and it is a real pleasure to be chosen to be part of her home.

Rafa-kids future studio and showroom.







This year will be very special for Rafa-kids, because we will open our own STUDIO and SHOWROOM. 
We grabbed a chance to rent a spot in Hofbogen. This old structure is "the longest building in Holland" giving home to many creative people. It has this great industrial atmosphere with big windows and concrete floor. We got the keys in December but we are just starting the rebuilding and preparation to open the doors in Spring. That's why there is a ladder in this post ;-) I will pain a lot the coming weeks and clean, after the boys will finish to demolish the walls…. I just can't stop looking for the inspiration of studios/show rooms, mostly very simple  - all the pictures are from my pinterest page.  1/ 2/  3/

Bunk bed in a winter mood….



I like small furniture models! They remind me of my student times when I was building architectural models all the time. Now we have our Rafa-kids furniture in a small scale. What do you think about this warm, soft blanket on our F bunk bed ?  ;) Isn't it looking gorges together with the color of birch wood? I like to play with it so much ;)

Leaving for Lodz Design Festival 2012



Tomorrow we are leaving to Poland, Lodz. The school's Autumn Holiday will start. 
We are so happy that the Lodz Design Festival is exactly during this time, so we can have a small holiday break. On Thursday night there is an official ceremony of the MUST HAVE awards. I will tell you all when we are back…. I'm so excited.  I will be back in 10 days.  All the best from me. Agata

Scandinaviandeco with Rafa-kids beds


Few days ago I got a package from Finland. When I saw this beautiful colorful collage with Rafa-kids beds inside Scandinaviandeco I just couldn't stop smiling all day long. We are so happy and honored to be part of it. I scan for you few pages with great teenager's rooms. I really like the round hanger and simplicity of the girl's room. The dark proposal is for boys, but how simple and timeless this room is. I hope you like them as much as I do.

Rafa-kids at Inside Design Amsterdam


It was a very busy weekend for us at design fair IDA in Amsterdam. I'm so glad we could be part of such an event and had the opportunity to meet other designers and see their great work in real. Our Rafa-kids beds worked great in our sunny room.  We made two swings from the wheels of our R toddler bed and hang them on a metal rack. We used it also to show the bedding collection. The swings got a lot of fans! I think there will be new product coming to Rafa-kids collection ;-) We received many positive comments and complements, and meet many, many people…
