Mjölk

There is so many things which inspire and fascinate me and which I would like to show it here, 

and they are not really related with kids. It's difficult to keep only children design orientated blog , believe me.  One of my interest goes to Japanese simplicity and handcrafts. When I discovered the kitka blog I just couldn't leave this place….

John Baker and his wife Juli inspired by their travels in Scandinavia and Japan, established Mjölk 

: a gallery and furniture shop in Toronto, Canada. 

‘We realized there was something interconnected between these places…they are both cultures that celebrate things that are functional and modest. We try and find universal qualities and translate them to a western audience.’

wit - white

Last Friday I went to see exhibition in Nederlandsfotomuseum in Rotterdam called " White" . 

Did you also notice a strong trend with white color in interior design and fashion ?  I personally really like the minimal tendency and that people would like to reduce they needs and simplify they life. The exhibition shows a wide perspective and different aspect of WHITE COLOR.  All the text made for the exhibition and put in different corners are very interesting . There is so many art objects which stooped me in silence and contemplation..... 

If you looking for something unique don't miss it  - it's  open till 5 January 2014

It's a bit quiet here which most of the time means , I'm very busy. 

We are going to show the dark chocolate Rafa-kids beds for the first time to the public 

at Inside Design Amsterdam 2013. 

A design event organized by ELLE DECORATION taking this year 

the whole downtown Amsterdam by storm. 

Come to see us between Friday 27th and Sunday 29th at MMOUSE. 

 On Friday 27th at 16 - 20 there is a special opening organized by MMOUSE 

with drinks and music! Rafa-kids  will be glad to meet you there!

Groos - design from Rotterdam

I stepped by new concept store GROOS last week. Happily I live not so far away from it so it was really time to have a look.  If you will visit Rotterdam , it's just few minutes from Central Station. Here you can have a small bite of design scene from Rotterdam. All products in the store are designed by people leaving in Rotterdam and now on display in this hip new place. In this concept store you will find design, art, clothes, books and music. Definitely great place to find unique gift and not standard object. I really like the atmosphere of the shop and displaying objects by colors. Do you like the idea of having a store supporting local designers? I do!  I hope it will be not only attractive for tourist visiting Rotterdam, but also will be supported by local customers.

Paris and Maison&Objet 2013

It was a bit quiet here last days. I went for 2 days to Paris to see the Maison&Objet fair and also to enjoy a bit this beautiful city. The fair is HUGE! it's impossible for me to show you what I saw ;-) 

 I'm overloaded with images. Today just a small colorful selection in the KIDS department. 

I was especially interested in textile and furniture . A lot of colors and texture in accessories, yellow and pink are still very hot. I didn't expect we go with it another year ;-) Pastel tones also doing very well.  I was lucky to meet luckyboysunday and have a small chat with the girls - otherwise I was just running around . I liked the stand of Oeuf. I think they are doing great development and keeping constant style. New discovery is for me the moustache with this great black & white rug and muskhane with energetic felt colors and much more….

Place - Kinderkamercompany Rotterdam

If you following me on Facebook, you already know that our Rafa-kids beds, has been welcomed in Kindercamercompany children shop in Rotterdam. It is located on the Nieuwe Binnenweg 110 – 112, in the center of the city with many nice spots to hang out - cafes, clubs and shops. 

Accully I do not know any other so great shop with children furniture and accessories in Rotterdam  ( if you know - please let me know ! ). We are really honored, that they carry our brand in their established and known shop of the city!  We steped by last weekend (it was rainy and dark) but I did few photo's for you, to have a look inside. I hope you like it.

Loods 5 - vintage corner

Yesterday we went to Loods 5 in Sliedrecht. It is a big interior design shop, which has a mix of different brands in one place. The concept is to give small and big companies, a space to show their products, and people can take them home directly. I was surprised to see a vintage corner out there. I felt there a bit like at my grandmother's house in Poland, really!  And it was just next to stand for new HAY products and designs from Rice or Swedish Serholt and much more. It's very big mix of styles, but accully I do like it....
